A graduate from the Ontario College of Art and Design, employed in the print, design and graphic communication industry, I have now returned to the world of the visual arts as a studying, teaching and exhibiting artist. I am interested in bringing fresh, innovative ideas and skilled techniques to traditional fine art paintings, subject matter and compositions.
Representational or abstracted – my approach to image making is often gestural, painterly and layered. This visual and mark-making language of painting is about the exploration of composition and imagery, of surface textures and visual symbolism. Art and image making is both telling a story and asking questions of beauty and truth. To further this evolution and interest, to see the bigger picture and explore these complex narratives is why I am drawn to paint.
